Good evening everyone!
In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Interpretación from the argentine rock band Las Pastillas del Abuelo.
Avalancha: Heroes del Silencio
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Avalancha from the spanish band Heroes del Silencio.
For today's post, I'll talk about another example of how important video games are when it comes to showing us things that are unknown to players, such as music, culture, or history. In my case, I haven't experienced many musical genres, but thanks to their little push, I was able to discover music that I wouldn't have known otherwise, except for finding it in a series or movie.
The best video games usually have their own soundtrack, as well as purchasing the rights to old songs that are very iconic. In the former case, I can mention games such as The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne, and in the latter case, I think that series such as Grand Theft Auto, FIFA, Saints Row, and others have also done a great job.
One of the most iconic video game series that I have enjoyed a lot is linked to the world of music. I'm talking about a game that has transcended my generation: Guitar Hero. In my case, I had the opportunity to play the third installment on my PlayStation 2 console, and I remember playing it with my mother and being quite happy with the musical quality it had. In fact, I liked the game so much that my mother got me one of the guitars that worked as a joystick so I could enjoy the video game even more.
Recently, I was reviewing some songs from the game that I really liked. I came across the only song in Spanish that is truly excellent. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I'm talking about “Avalancha” by Héroes del Silencio.
Heroes del Silencio is one of the most important bands in Spanish rock. It was founded in Zaragoza in the 1980s by vocalist Enrique Bunbury, guitarist Juan Valdivia, drummer Pedro Andreu, and bassist Joaquin Cardiel.
During their early years, they released albums that enjoyed considerable national success, such as El Mar No Cesa, Senderos de Traición, and El Espiritu Del Vino. However, the band's real success came when they released their EP Avalancha, which featured one of their most famous songs. This song would garner even more recognition when it was included on the soundtrack of the iconic Guitar Hero saga as the only song in Spanish.
