My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Este es el pasito from the famous argentine band Los Wachiturros.
After quite some time, I've returned to a genre that I'm not particularly passionate about, but I can't deny that it has a few songs that are great for playing in a nightclub. Cumbia villera has never been one of my favorite genres, mainly because it glorifies stealing, the bad life, drugs, and other things. It's funny that my favorite genre is hip-hop, which glorifies the same things, but perhaps because I don't understand much of what they say, I'm indifferent to it when I hear a good instrumental track complemented by a great voice.
I remember about ten years ago, a group called Los Wachiturros had become very popular. Generally, it was music without much creativity, like reggaeton, but this group ended up breaking through during their short time in the spotlight. It's not usually my kind of music, just like reggaeton, but there are always a few exceptions...
A few days ago, I was looking for other genres I could bring in, and I had the wonderful idea of searching for songs in this genre, finding one of the most emblematic songs by this group: Tirate un Paso.
Los Wachiturros is an Argentine musical group that mixes cumbia with reggaeton, and became very famous in 2011. Among the best-known members are Gonzalo Muñoz, DJ Memo, Leonel Lencinas, and Brian Romero.
Their first album was released in 2011 and was called Tirate un Paso, and the song that made them famous was precisely Tirate un paso, which was the hit that put them everywhere at that time. I remember very well that they exploded nationally and didn't stop touring with another girl band called Las Culisueltas.
