Fallout 4 Main Theme: Inon Zur, Fallout
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Fallout 4 Main Theme from the artist Inon Zur.
A few days ago, I finished watching the second season of a series based on one of my favorite video game sagas of all time: Fallout. Since I was a kid, I've always been a big fan of video games, and over time I ended up immersing myself in several different worlds, but if there's one that really left its mark on me, it was this one. I remember the first time I played Fallout 4, I didn't understand anything, I was scared of the ghouls, and honestly, I died every two seconds. So I ended up abandoning it, only to pick it up again and finish it a few years later.
One of the things I like most about this series is the setting. It's like a vision of the future as it might have been imagined during the Cold War, a time when the game's story diverges from our present day. The music, the style of cars, the robots—everything has a very period feel that fits the video game perfectly.
I ended up choosing a song from Fallout 4, but it also appears several times in the series, precisely when one of my favorite factions in the whole world is reborn: the RNC (Republic of New California)... It's a melody that I love and that perfectly represents the world of Fallout, where everything is devastated but with hints that there is still hope.
Fallout is a post-apocalyptic video game series that began in 1997. Over time, it became one of the most important franchises in the RPG genre, with several installments developed by different studios such as Interplay, Bethesda, and Obsidian. The series is so famous worldwide that they even launched a series set in its universe.
For the latest single-player installment of the game, Bethesda decided to hire the services of a composer who had participated in the soundtracks of several important games (Fallout 3, Dragon Age 2, and Sword Coast Legends): Inon Zur. The song was very well received by the public and, as it became the franchise's main theme, it managed to give the franchise quite an identity with its melody.
