Hello: Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Mc Ren - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Insisto from the argentine band Ciro y los Persas.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Hello from the legendary hip-hop artists Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Mc Ren.

For today's post, I wanted to talk about a song from one of my all-time favorite genres, which is also produced by two of my favorite artists in hip-hop. Although it's not so represented in the lyrics, I love the musical creativity of that era and its incredible instrumentals.

My history with the genre dates back to when I was about 12 or 13 years old and had started playing the multiplayer version of one of the most iconic games in history: Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. It turns out that I used to play with a group of people who listened to that kind of music, and they showed me my first songs on a device in the game called Boombox. I remember that on that device, with a command, you could add a streaming link and play whatever song you wanted within the game. Now it sounds simple, but at the time it wasn't so easy. I discovered some major artists like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Wiz Khalifa.

It would be a few years before I had much more direct contact with the genre. That's when I discovered a documentary on Netflix called Straight Outta Compton, which told the story of one of the most legendary bands in hip-hop. I ended up loving the documentary, and I was surprised that several of the artists I knew previously had been part of a band in their early days and had done so well.

This film helped me become much more involved with those who would become my favorite artists in the genre, such as Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. Mainly the latter, as I consider each of the albums he released during that time to be a masterpiece due to their amazing instrumentals.

Hello is one of the most iconic songs in the hip-hop genre. It has a rather interesting history, because after N.W.A split up in 1991 and Eazy-E passed away, three of the most important members of the group got together to collaborate on Ice Cube's album War & Peace Vol. 2. This song not only represents a return to the group's classic sound, but also served as a form of reconciliation between former members who had had differences in the past.
