Good evening everyone!
In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Same Old Song and Dance from the legendary american band Aerosmith.
Insisto: Ciro y los Persas
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Insisto from the argentine band Ciro y los Persas.
On this occasion, I'm going to talk about a song by a band that I've already mentioned in some of my posts over the last few weeks. It's one of my two favorite Argentine rock bands that are still active: Ciro y Los Persas, led by Andrés Ciro Martínez.
My family had a big influence on me in terms of music, so I've always been used to listening to Argentine rock when I was at home or in the car. However, I didn't delve deeper into the genre until a few years later, coinciding with the launch of a new music platform called Spotify.
At that time, Spotify had playlists created by its own team, among which I found a very interesting one that included several Argentine rock hits from recent decades. That's how I discovered great bands like Los Piojos, Attaque 77, Intoxicados, and other groups that were famous in the 2000s.
Los Piojos was a band formed by Andrés Ciro Martínez, so it caught my attention that instead of continuing with the group, he decided to pursue his career by forming a new band: Ciro y Los Persas. So I started to research more about this new group after listening to a few songs, and the truth is that I found some of the most beautiful songs I have heard among the latest releases in the genre. Over time, I have really enjoyed the band's songs, such as Me Gusta, Mirenla, Astros, Antes y Después, Vas a Bailar, Luz, Caminando, and my choice for today, Insisto.
Ciro y los Persas was a band founded in 2009, after Andrés Ciro Martínez dissolved the iconic group “Los Piojos.” It was formed by vocalist and guitarist Andrés Ciro Martínez, guitarist Juan Manuel Abalos, bassist Joao Bastos, and drummer Julian Isod.
The group's first album, titled Espejos, was released in 2009 and featured very successful songs such as Antes y Después, Vas a Bailar, and my choice for today, Insisto. It was a very important album that propelled the group forward and marked a clear separation between the leader and his previous band, Los Piojos.
