Killing in the Name: Rage Against The Machine - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Without Me of the legendary hip-hop artist Eminem.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Killing in The Name of the band Rage Against The Machine.

When I was six or seven years old, I got one of the first video game consoles of my life. After playing some PC games, such as Age of Empires II and others, I began to delve a little deeper into gaming and couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a PlayStation 2.

Back in the PlayStation 2 era, my mother used to take me to a neighborhood fair that, as many will remember, was full of stalls selling pirated discs. I would walk around the fair looking for new games for my console, finding traditional games such as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Pro Evolution Soccer. But there was one game that caught my attention, and it was called Guitar Hero 3.

It was my first experience with the series, so I didn't understand much at first. But what I was sure of was that I really liked the songs in the first levels. Little by little, I got the hang of the game and continued advancing, discovering even more songs. The game had me so hooked that I asked my mom to buy me one of the guitars that came with the game controllers, which was a great idea.

Among the songs I've gotten to know thanks to the game are Slow Ride by Foghat, Barracuda by Heart, Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar, Sunshine Of Your Love by Cream, Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones, and Livin On a Prayer by Bon Jovi.

In that episode, I also discovered a band called Rage Against The Machine, who had a song called Bulls On Parade that I loved. That led me to search for more songs by the band and find one of their most iconic songs: Killing In The Name.

Rage Against Machine was an American band formed by vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk. It was founded in 1991 in California, United States, with the intention of fusing genres such as rap, metal, and rock, creating a unique and revolutionary style in the music scene.

Their first album, which bears the same name as the band, was a huge success, featuring legendary songs such as Killing In The Name, Freedom, Know Your Enemy, and Wake Up. Killing In The Name currently has 1,112,190,068 plays on Spotify, while the official YouTube video has 320 million views.
