Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Sweet Dreams from the duo Eurythmics.
Need You Tonight: INXS
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Need You Tonight from the band INXS.
It's another song that appeared in the last music competition we held. My friend @koizu chose it, and it was one of my favorites. I already knew it, but I didn't know the name of the band or the song. The truth is, it's a song I had always heard, maybe on the radio or in a TV commercial, but I had never bothered to find out who it was by. It turns out that when it started playing during my friend's turn, I immediately realized that I had heard it a lot, and that made me feel a little nostalgic about hearing it on the radio.
For those who don't know the context, we organized a music competition among a group of six friends to see who had the best music saved in their personal playlists. The truth is, it was quite fun and entertaining, because each of us had to choose a different song each week to try to surprise the others with our tastes.
I remember giving it a pretty high score because I really thought it was an excellent choice for the game and the genre. Sometimes you have a melody stuck in your head but no idea who the artist is or what the song is called, and that's exactly what happened to me with this INXS song. Thanks to the influence of @koizu, I was finally able to put a name to that sound that had been stuck in my head for so long. After the competition ended, I added the song to my Spotify favorites to make sure I never lost track of it again.
INXS was an Australian band formed in the late 1970s, which eventually became one of the best known bands in their country and also internationally. During the 1980s, they had several hits that were played extensively on radio and television, thanks in particular to their style, which blended rock and pop. Over the years, they managed to stay relevant and build a fairly significant global career.
Need You Tonight was released in the late 1980s and was part of one of their most successful albums. It was a song that got a lot of airplay at the time and helped the band reach an even wider audience. To this day, it remains one of the band's most memorable songs, which is why I ended up selecting it.
