Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Soy Sabalero from the argentine cumbia band Los Palmeras.
The Nightingale: Percival Schuttenbach
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is The Nightingale from the artist Percival Schuttenbach
The Nightingale is another song I discovered thanks to the influence of video games, more specifically one of my favorites from the last decade: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I've mentioned several times that many of my musical tastes come directly from what I listen to while gaming, and this is another clear example.
I think the best examples I can give are all the music I got from video games such as Bloodborne, Fallout, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Kingdom Come Deliverance, and many others that have used or created music to set the right mood for their video games.
In my case, I've always been quite a fan of medieval settings. Since I was a kid, I liked games with that theme, such as Age of Empires, which ended up being one of the best I tried despite having a fantasy tone. The Witcher 3 not only gave me an excellent story, but also a soundtrack that I listened to several times even outside of the game. My favorite song is actually Cloak and Dagger by the same artist.
Percival Schuttenbach is a Polish band that participated in the creation of several songs for the soundtrack of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The group is known for mixing traditional folk music with modern elements, which fits perfectly with the setting of the video game. Beyond being the authors of all the music for the video game and even the Netflix series, unfortunately this group has not managed to stand out in any other field.
Needless to say, the worldwide success of The Witcher has led to incredible numbers for songs created for the game, such as Silver For Monsters, Steel For Humans, A Story You Won't Believe, The Nightingale, Cloak And Dagger, Back On The Path, and Another Round for Everyone, songs that have accumulated more than ten million views on the Spotify platform.
