This Love: Maroon 5 - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Housewife from the artist Dr. Dre, Hitman and Kurupt

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is This Love from the iconic group Maroon 5.

Last time, I brought a song that I discovered indirectly thanks to a movie, Dr. Dre's Housewife. One before that, I also talked about a song I discovered thanks to Grand Theft Auto Vice City, I Ran (So Far Away) by A Flock of Seagulls.

But this time, I'm not going to bring up any songs that I've discovered thanks to video games or the influence of a movie. I discovered it thanks to one of the best tools that Spotify launched years ago and has been gradually perfecting to the point of making it quite effective for finding new music to listen to.

If I remember correctly, I got it after entering a playlist I have with several pop hits from the 80s to the 2000s at most. The song I'm talking about is none other than This Love, the most successful song released by the band Maroon 5.

It wasn't the first time I had heard this song, as it was very famous in its day and I had heard it a few times on well-known music stations in Argentina. I also knew the name of the band, but I had no idea they were the authors of this song. Coming across this song led me to look for more hits by the group, and I ended up choosing this one as my favorite.

Kara Flowers, renamed Maroon 5 a few years later, was an iconic alternative rock band. It was formed by American high school students: vocalist Adam Levine, guitarist James Valentine, keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, drummer Ryan Dusick, and finally guitarist Mickey Madden.

They managed to release their first album sponsored by a major label in 1997, titled The Fourth World. Despite the backing of a major label, the group's performance left much to be desired, and they decided to put their project on hold.

But the members of Kara's Flowers weren't going to give up. In 2001, they changed the band's name to Maroon 5, and a year later, they released their first album under that name: Songs About Jane. This new beginning paid off, as they achieved considerable national success thanks to many of their now iconic songs, such as She Will Be Loved, Harder to Breathe, and my choice today: This Love.
