RE: I Bought Some New Camera's

in Rant, Complain, Talk8 days ago

Are you mounting them around the stage? Does the app let you start and stop them? I've not looked into such things, but they look good. Obviously the editing gets complex with multiple cameras. I have tried using a couple when doing drum videos, but it's a lot of work. For our gigs we just tend to have a little Zoom camera that can do decent sound too.

I bought some fairly inexpensive clamps on Amazon, and I mount then up around the stage and out of the way of everyone. Then just hit record on the app and let them do their thing for the night, since all the gigs we run are collective gigs I record all the bands of the night, so they require a little bit of moving through the night, but not much. Then you can bring them into your editing software, sync it all and then you can just do a multicam edit, which is really handy as far as editing goes. You're essentially just listening to it, and clicking on each camera to the beat of the particular song, and if you're not happy, you can go back at make some minor changes.

Its a game changer, I think it would be worth checking out CEX to see if you can get a few. I just finished editing my bands performance and now we potentially have 11 songs to throw up on social media

That's cool. I recently learned that the Kdenlive video software I use can automatically sync video feeds from the audio so that can help for some of mine. For stuff at home I just use my phone and possibly a webcam. I still need to learn more about video editing to get better results.

If you ever want to get on a call I'd be happy to give some pointers for editing, I enjoy it and I'm not the best, but would be able to answer questions and help out if needed.

I may take you up on that some time. I don't have anything I'm working on right now.

Give me a shout next time you have a project you're working on and we can get on a call, I'm happy to help, I find talking things through with others is good for sharpening my own knowledge

Hey @killerwot, here is a little bit of BEER from @steevc for you. Enjoy it!
