I'm glad you got your stuff, but sorry to hear some of it may have been damaged. You can always claim - these companies usually insure your goods so are responsible for them arriving intact.

Yep, I know, I even had an extra insurance. As it went into storage and was needed.
You know, we actually were preparing to move to the US, to the New England area and Massachusetts in particular. That’s why we went there on an exploration end of last year. To find the spot to move to.
The company from hubby was relocating us. We were preparing that for over a year… the paperwork took forever with the backlogs of covid… but suddenly the company was taken over and all changed last October. So all our plans had to be adjusted. And quickly.
So we were looking what country would come close to what we loved from the New England area. And guess what, Scotland had it all too and even more. No idea why it never was on our radar before. The climate is even more temperate, not so extreme.
We love nature, the 4 seasons… oh did we miss those… the possibilities of walks, history, architecture, castles, the friendly people, sea and mountains, the diversity in the landscape, English language, hubby can work remote for the new company out of the UK. (What plays a large role too btw he was made redundant with the other one in November… after us preparing to move to the US for them hehehe 🤭) hubby is British I am not, I’m Dutch although born in France. I have never lived in the UK before. This is a first and it is country number 6 for me.
Life changes… but all for the good.
We did also outgrow Spain for many reasons, I lived there for 7 years and hubby 15.
It changed too much in the last years. The climate in the south gets so extreme now, the houses have no insulation. Holiday is fine but living is another story.
Hubby was also a cross border worker in Gibraltar. And it got worse and worse to cross the border each day due to Brexit. You can imagine. So the old company wanted us to relocate to the US, we thought yep. It’s time. All changed…
Whatever would have happened. We would have moved out of Spain.
On our trips we did also fall in love with Scotland. What is not to love?
