Busqué por meses un gatito para adoptar hasta que, debido a ciertos inconvenientes, nunca lograba quedarme con uno. Hasta que un día un amigo de mi hermano le avisó que su gata había tenido gatitos y que los daba en adopción. Allí fuimos y nos trajimos a Mía (creíamos que Coco era hembra, pero resultó ser macho), así que ahora tiene nombre nuevo. Estamos esperando a que cumpla los dos meses para ponerle las vacunas.
I searched for months to adopt a kitten, but due to certain circumstances, I was never able to get one. Then one day, a friend of my brother's told him that his cat had had kittens and was giving them up for adoption. We went there and brought home Mia (we thought Coco was female, but it turned out to be male), so now he has a new name. We are waiting for him to turn two months old to get his vaccinations.
Coco es un gato muy juguetón y de gran carácter. El primer día que llegó a casa no dejaba de llorar por todo, estaba todo el tiempo detrás de uno de nosotros o encima en brazos, y nos partía el alma, seguramente extrañaba a su mamá y a sus hermanitos. Pero con el tiempo se fue adaptando y ya no llora tanto e incluso está más independiente. Si se queda solito unos minutos ya no le importa tanto. Le gusta mucho jugar… actividad que mezcla con el sueño. ¡Incluso corretea por la casa de noche! Ayer mismo estaba aburrido y se puso a jugar en mi cabeza, jaja.
Coco is a very playful cat with a great personality. The first day he came home, he wouldn't stop crying about everything. He was always following one of us around or sitting on our laps, and it broke our hearts. He was probably missing his mom and his siblings. But over time he adapted and now he doesn't cry as much and is even more independent. If he's left alone for a few minutes, he doesn't mind so much. He loves to play... an activity he mixes with sleeping. He even runs around the house at night! Just yesterday he was bored and started playing on my head, haha.
En casa tenemos una perra de 11 años llamada Lila y temíamos que no se llevaran bien. Si bien antes tuve una gata que se crió con Lila, ellas nunca congeniaron pero se toleraban. Sin embargo, con Coco parece llevarse bien, a pesar de sus juegos y de sus uñas super filosas. Lila se pone nerviosa si llora mucho y lo busca para ver que le pasa. ¡Es una dulzura! Parece que está a punto de adoptarlo también.
We have an 11-year-old dog named Lila at home, and we were afraid they wouldn't get along. Although I used to have a cat that grew up with Lila, they never got along but tolerated each other. However, she seems to get along with Coco, despite his games and super sharp nails. Lila gets nervous if he cries a lot and goes to check on him to see what's wrong. She's such a sweetheart! It looks like she's about to adopt him too.
