There are two applications I spend most of my time on, not because I do not use others, but because these two have somehow taken over my daily routine. They are WhatsApp and TikTok, and honestly, I feel like a slave to both of them. I use mobile phone, and these apps live right there with me from morning till night.

WhatsApp is the first place where everything important happens. All school related information comes from there, from class updates to group discussions and sudden announcements. It is also where I communicate with friends, check up on people, and stay connected even when we are far apart. I really cannot do without WhatsApp because missing messages there can mean missing something serious. It has become like my digital notice board and meeting point at the same time.

TikTok on the other hand is the app I keep telling myself to reduce, but I just cannot. I even pray sometimes to abstain from it, yet I still find myself opening it without thinking. On TikTok, I watch videos, catch up with trending gist, get the latest updates, laugh, and sometimes even learn new things. It pulls my attention in a very strong way, and once I start scrolling, time moves faster than I expect.
When I wake up in the morning, the first app I open is WhatsApp. I reply messages, read group chats, and clear notifications. After that, I check my mail, Facebook, Instagram, calls, and text messages. Not long after, I find myself living on TikTok, scrolling through videos again and again.
These two apps affect my daily life in many ways. They help me stay informed, connected, and entertained, but they also consume a lot of my time. Sometimes they distract me from important tasks, reduce my focus, and make hours pass without notice, yet they have become part of how I function every single day. Even during free moments, waiting time, or boredom, my hand goes straight to my phone. It has shaped my habits, attention span, and how I relax daily without me even realizing how often.
Thanks for reading
Namaste
