If money wasn't a problem?

If money wasn't a problem in this world for everyone, then it means there must be some other substance or factor that is being equated with money, and that substance or factor must be scarce for it to have the same value as money. Isn't that so? One of the things that makes money, money, is the scarcity it possesses, and we can't take that away from it. So, if money became abundant in everyone's hands, then money would become useless. This is what I think whenever we generalize the topic, or rather, the question.

But what if money wasn't a problem for me?

Then this is where the wonder comes in.

Many times, I've sat down and imagined myself having half of the money Elon Musk has. I have imagined myself spending money in ways that would get people talking, insinuating that I'm spending recklessly, just the way they talk about celebrities buying cars they will only drive once or twice.

Oh yeah, if I ever got to the stage where I wouldn't need to bother about the prices of things or services before paying for them, I would surely buy half of the earth for myself. Not a joke. I would make sure to acquire so much that even my 10th generation to come wouldn't need to labour the way we labour in Africa before we earn a good amount of money. Using the politicians in my country for an example, most of them have made stupendous investments, both in and out of the country, that whenever they leave the earth, their family won't need to struggle financially. That is the type that I want for my family. I must live well and make a good ground for my generations to come.

Is that being selfish?

No, that's not it. It's simply the way the world is designed.

But that doesn't mean only my family would enjoy the wealth. Of course, it's not possible to "lay a good foundation" without making peace with people while you're alive, and that's where positively touching people's lives with the excess money comes in. Yeah, I mean I could use my money to subsidize the prices of basic commodities in the country. Imagine if I used my money to subsidize the price of petrol in my country from 1,200 naira to 500 naira. Forever, my name would be written in the good books of the country.
