I'm not healthy 😏

Hi!👋

"Does being fit or healthy mean the absence of sickness in one's body?"

I asked myself the question above before I started to write this article and thought deeply, and all I could come up with is, "No, there's more to being healthy aside from just the absence of sickness in the body."

You'll agree with me that there are people who are physically fit but their mental or emotional health is down to zero. Such a person cannot be considered healthy. There are also people who are seen as physically fit when they go for medical checkups, but there are hidden sicknesses, diseases, or disorders that come up once in a while to disturb the physical body. These little sicknesses, diseases, or disorders often do not show up during medical diagnosis. You want an example of such things? It's cough, catarrh, and others. There are people who naturally experience this disorder on a regular basis, and it's very normal.

That brings me to the question of this prompt:

Am I healthy?

No, I'm not, because I'm prone to a running nose disturbance on a regular basis, and it appears to be a natural occurrence or a disorder per se because medication has no say on it. Yes, it's a common phenomenon that a running nose has no permanent medication—it only goes away when someone outgrows it. And if it's already in adulthood, then the person needs to stay cautious of things that stir it up.

Aside from this, I'm very much physically fit, down to my mental health. I don't fall sick often. I can't remember the last time I was admitted to the hospital. The only simple sickness that comes once in a while is a headache, which is very normal for a body that's working. It's just this catarrh disturbance that comes once in a while, in a regular pattern, that makes me consider myself not healthy, because it doesn't—and hasn't—responded to the medications I have applied to it.

But nevertheless, I have been applying safety measures to stay clean from it and not to stir it up, which includes avoiding dust and, recently, staying off cold weather.

Truly, nobody is 100% healthy. There's this day my friend said we should go for a full body checkup. I said no. My reason was that, I was not feeling sick.

All she did was to laugh.

We have this mindset of going for checkup only when you begin to feel sick which is not right.

That's it.
There's always one atom of sickness in our body. Maybe not visibly seen but they're always there.

The medical checkup thing is something I have been lagging behind. I don't do it often... only when sick and it's so bad of me

I would say, nobody is 100% we all have issues we are dealing with, and it's either they affect us mentally, or physically, but to some extent, we have to take good care of ourselves and work our issues out, that way we can be on the journey to being fully healthy regardless.

Yesss!
The ball is in our court. We all have the responsibility to care of our health.
