Greetings dear Hiveans and community members. Today ie., November 14th - Children's Day is being celebrated to honour the Birthday of our late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who loved children to a great extent.

Early in the morning two school children came home and asked me for red roses. When I asked them why ? They said its Children's Day and our school asked us to bring a red rose, in remembrance of Jawaharlal Nehru who is fondly called as Chacha Nehru

Why a red rose ?
Our late PM used to pin a red rose in his coat and he compares it to the little children, as they are also like this budding flower. Besides, it also marks as a respect and love towards his dear wife.
This day reminds me of my good old school days. None of take a leave on this particular day. The reason being, we will be served with choclates in the classroom, after the morning assembly.
Its a must, to wear our white uniform onthis particilar day. The day starts with an Assembly filled with students narrating interesting incidents and stories about the late PM. Shorts skits are organised by the English department with students playing their part well. The Assembly ends with a National Anthem.
After the assembly, the children are much excited to get into the classroom, as sweets will be distributed to all. And children are entertained with story telling, games and quiz competitions on this particular day.
While I was working in an Indian School in the middle east, the same was conducted followed by giving each student, a small cutting of our National Flag. But I always felt less importance was given to this day while working abroad.
Thankyou for your time and patience in reading my blog. These red roses were bloomed in my garden, which was captured in my Samsung Galaxy mobile.
Wishing a great weekend to all Hiveans.
