Day by day, we dispose cans and kegs from our houses and offices. These are the wastes from what we are using in our day to day activities. These waste substances litter our environment. There cause terrible nuisance around us. People do not have need of these things and sometimes, they accumulates to form a very big heap in our midst. We do not need them and many of them are things that are synthetic.
The are aware that synthetic materials do not degrade easily. Many of them stay a very long time. These include nylons and plastic and other forms of fibers. There should be disposed of properly so that we have a clean environment. But careless disposal of these substances makes our environment dirty. Their sight and smell constitute environmental hazard. So, there is a great need for recycling.
Through recycling, we are getting back those used materials into use. The process involves taking them back from the environment and them putting back into useable forms in the society. So, instead of having our environment and communities littered about by these waste substances, we can take them to the recycling machines where they are deformed and remake for further use.
Before this time, in my community we were not so conversant with this method of managing waste substances. The best we could do them was to burn them off. But burning on it own also constitute an environmental hazard. The smokes given out during these burning are very unhealthy. The pollute the air around us. Inhaling such air is not something very good. Incessant burning on refuse pollutes the air. It releases toxic substances into the air. We should avoid that. I prefer the recycling. It is a better way of managing waste around us. We should look for how to embrace recycling rather than engage in such activities that causes hazard of environmental pollution.
There are these people who engages in such activities. There are from a certain tribe in our country. They go around and pick these synthetic materials and sold them to recycling companies. Recycling is good. Instead of these materials becoming a nuisance in the environment, they are disposed properly through the method of recycling.
