The journey so far and advice to newbies

My experience on Hive has been a poor one; growth has not really visited me despite my one year and some months on the platform. But this does not mean I do not know what to do to improve my growth. I know what to do, but it just has not been working for me.

From my own experience, Hive is a decentralised writing platform, but somehow the operation of how things work, especially with regards to rewarding posts, is still somewhat centralised, and this makes it a bit difficult to earn from blogging. Maybe I may be wrong, but I have seen it this way because a newbie needs to do much before they can earn. This is because people with higher authority oftentimes do not move around enough to select posts; rather, they pick from the ones they come across or the ones they are familiar with.

It has not been easy at all. Many times, I have felt the urge to quit, but I gave up on that idea and kept being consistent here because one of the things I was also told was that when I stay long and build my Hive Power to a certain level, things will start to fall into place. This is what a lot of people have told me, and it is based on their experiences.

For newbies, this is the same thing I would like to encourage them with. It may not look nice at the beginning, but just stay put and keep pushing. Do not give up, no matter what. I have not reached the stage of a big boy yet; I am still on the way, doing the little I can. I know that if we all do not give up because of low payments, the light at the end of the tunnel will surely shine on us.

When I joined Hive, the price was low, but it was not this deeply low. It was around $0.2, and the little upvotes I was able to get did not amount to something good immediately. I kept accumulating them before usage, and even though I am ashamed of my Hive Power level at the moment after being a member here for one year and some months, I am still grateful for the Hive Power I have gotten because it is far better than that of some people we started together with who gave up along the way.

Another thing a newbie needs to do is to put effort into relating with others. Hive is decentralised, but that does not affect voting for people. Voting on Hive is done individually and based on content that people find interesting.
