Decades ago, I was living with my master in a community, somewhere far away, like hermits, kind of. One day, while I was just getting myself busy during the morning hours, I asked him what is Maya. He smiled, that wicked smile, and told me that he would explain that to me when he would be back, as he needs to go to town to buy some stuff.

The thing is, he never came back. And while I was doing alright with the food for me, one day I found a stray cat. And the little thing was hungry, so I went to get some milk. Getting milk daily was quite a task, so when someone offer me to take care of his cow while he is away, I did that. The cow was pregnant, so soon I had two of them to take care, and then few more. I use to go to the village nearby quite often to sell the extra milk, and soon one of the girls there fell in love with me, and we moved together. The cow bussiness was booming, so soon I needed to hire some extra hands to help me, as I wanted to stay at home more, and play with my two children. The big bad flu came, and so many people around died, my wife and two children being some of this people too. A mad cow disease was running through the country, and all my cows needed to be sacrificed to not spread the disease. I could not pay the people I hired, and I lost my house, and everything else. I retired in the forest, living in my old hut. I was old and tired, and I got sick too. I was close to die, I could feel it.

And then I felt a light touch on my shoulder, and I open my eyes. My Master was back from town, and just two hours passed since then. He smiled once more and told me:

-That, my dear disciple, is Maya. The veil of illusion.
