¡Hola amantes del teatro!
Con gran alegría les comparto un hecho significativo que se materializó esta misma semana en mi urbe de residencia. Me refiero a una exposición de lujo que se encuentra montada en una de las galerías de arte de La Casa de la Ciudad y que rinde tributo ¡al grupo de teatro Guiñol de Santa Clara en su aniversario 64!
Mi historia de vínculo con el teatro, pienso se debe en gran medida a este grupo de excelencia en las tablas. Cuando yo era un niño, viví durante muchos años a excasos metros de la sede del Guiñol. Años más tarde, al mudarme de residencia, quiso el destino que tuviera como vecino a uno de sus directores más emblemáticos, Allán Alfonso. Luego, en mis primeros pasos como actor, tuve la oportunidad de actuar alguna que otra vez en su mágico escenario, recuerdos que ahora afloran con notable emoción mientras escribo estas líneas.

Para comprender en su dimensión el valor de esta exposición, tengamos en cuenta que muchas instituciones de las artes no llegan a 64 años de vida. El Guiñol de Santa Clara, ya se encamina a sobrepasar sus seis décadas con una salud digna de admiración.

La exposición Historias salvadas del tiempo, es un pequeño homenaje a esa historia, a sus fundadores y al trabajo ininterrumpido, aún en etapas tan complejas como las que propiciaron se perdiera gran parte de su atrezzo, títeres y piezas de inestimable valor. Pero más que eso, es un tributo a la capacidad de reinventarse dentro de sí mismos en función de los tiempos que sucedan.

Aún parece escucharse dentro de su espacio, los pasos y voces de Allán, Olga e Iván, algunos de sus pilares, sin los cuales el Guiñol no existiría hoy. Ellos son ejemplo de la causalidad histórica como categoría filosófica. Tampoco hubieran surgido otras agrupaciones que nacieron bajo su égida.
He ahí el mérito de tanta entrega como faro de referencia, documentos vivos de consulta perenne.

La forma peculiar de hacer teatro de títeres que este grupo siempre ha llevado a cabo, puede verse acá de alguna manera, simbólica al menos.

Objetos de las artes visuales, títeres originales de diferentes técnicas de manipulación, vestuarios, documentaciones, textos dramatúrgicos, premios, música compuesta para sus proyecciones, el primer títere y el hasta hoy último realizado, son algunas de las joyas que se nos presentan.

El arte es dialéctico y su perdurabilidad en el gusto popular supone la renovación de épocas. Si no se tiene esto en cuenta, los proyectos corren el riego de estancarse, caducar y perecer.

En este sentido, el Guiñol de Santa Clara constituye un ejemplo de renovación en su dinámica, única forma de reestablecerse, permanecer y, desde el respeto, tributar a los clásicos fundadores.
El arte genuino no es el que alcanza el éxito en etapas de moda, sino el que resiste el embate del tiempo. Con este axioma, me voy despidiendo hasta un próximo encuentro sobre las tablas dejándoles estas imágenes que la exposición grabó en nuestros corazones.

Hello theater lovers!
I'm thrilled to share a significant event that took place this week in my city. I'm referring to a magnificent exhibition currently on display at one of the art galleries in La Casa de la Ciudad, paying tribute to the Santa Clara Puppet Theater Group on its 64th anniversary!
My connection to the theater, I believe, owes much to this outstanding group of stage actors. When I was a child, I lived for many years just a few meters from the Guiñol theater. Years later, when I moved, fate led me to have one of its most emblematic directors, Allán Alfonso, as my neighbor. Then, in my early days as an actor, I had the opportunity to perform a few times on its magical stage, memories that now surface with considerable emotion as I write these lines.

To fully grasp the value of this exhibition, consider that many arts institutions don't even reach 64 years of age. The Santa Clara Puppet Theater is already approaching its sixtieth anniversary, maintaining an admirable level of health.

The exhibition Stories Saved from Time is a small tribute to that history, to its founders, and to their uninterrupted work, even during such complex periods as those that led to the loss of much of their props, puppets, and priceless pieces. But more than that, it is a tribute to their ability to reinvent themselves in response to changing times.

The footsteps and voices of Allán, Olga, and Iván, some of its pillars, can still seem to echo within its walls. Without them, the Guiñol would not exist today. They exemplify historical causality as a philosophical category. Nor would other groups that emerged under their guidance have arisen.
Therein lies the merit of such dedication, serving as a beacon of reference, living documents for perpetual consultation.

The peculiar way of doing puppet theatre that this group has always carried out can be seen here in some way, at least symbolically.

Objects of visual arts, original puppets of different manipulation techniques, costumes, documentation, dramaturgical texts, awards, music composed for its projections, the first puppet and the last one made to date, are some of the treasures presented to us.

Art is dialectical, and its enduring appeal to popular taste depends on the renewal of eras. If this is not taken into account, projects risk stagnating, becoming obsolete, and ultimately dying out.

In this sense, the Santa Clara Puppet Theater exemplifies its dynamic renewal, the only way to re-establish itself, endure, and, with respect, pay tribute to its founding classics.
Genuine art is not that which achieves success in fleeting trends, but that which withstands the test of time. With this axiom, I bid you farewell until our next encounter on stage, leaving you with these images that the exhibition etched in our hearts.
