Your professional presentation of Hive to Web3, devs, and defi principals is of inestimable value to Hive. I am actually shocked that anybody has any reservations regarding compensating you for your expertise and stepping up to the plate when stakeholders need a heavy hitter swinging at the bleachers with that acumen and understanding anywhere, anytime. You are rightly proud of your achievements on our behalf, lo these eight years of getting the right words in the right ears at the right time. We all here owe you a debt of gratitude for that perseverance, and the fruits you have borne Hive in that time. I am surprised that ingrates bite at the hand that feeds them, particularly without any prospect of anyone else having the professional expertise to present Hive to the market with your understanding of Web3 and associated industries. There may be folks that have some of that expertise, but I can't think of any that have all of it with even a fraction of the dedication to get them in front of the eyeballs we need to see them when that needs to happen you have demonstrated.
I can only admire your goodwill and overcoming of the personal matters you have endured.
The decentralized structure of Hive provides no SOP for compensating for that work. There's no standard position in a normal corporate hierarchy you fill. I can see how perplexing creating a job and compensation package is, when there is no board of directors, corporate structure, or budget for any of the roles you fill, much less all of them. The siloing of proprietary interests in Hive further segregates individual pecuniary interests that fractures the value of your work for the platform across those individual stakeholders. Other than throwing up a proposal that specifies the plates you will be stepping up to, what you'll swing at, and how you'll run the bases, for consideration directly drawn from the DHF, I can't see how decentralized stakeholders can effectively create a nominal position and package that would meet the needs Hive and you have to move forward with your representation. I also think it's ridiculous to even consider swapping horses, just as the Genius Act and Hive's potential create a substantial stream we're amid, or at all. You're more than a pretty presenter, akin to Tux and Uncle Sam combined with the State Department, the Fed, and Github all at once.
In the real world, I can't see how substantial stakeholders can do without you, precisely because you have demonstrated your sincere devotion to the future Hive can create. I have oft lamented that substantial stakeholders are incredibly short-sighted and bleeding the goose laying golden eggs to sip at it's life's blood instead of judiciously balancing risk and prudence, and if they don't get some discipline into their larcenous heads now regarding you, they will lament their lapse of judgement forever after. An example of how their excess of avarice has bit them in the ass is that we still use Discord to discuss and present to one another policy and development issues. Because we have foolishly failed to develop and use Hive d'apps for that purpose, and have sacrificed growth for proprietary governance by extant stakeholders, Hive's potential to provide all the features of democratic government has failed Nepal. Nepal just literally used Discord to replace their government, which is clearly a one-off and no one could claim is a reasonable mechanism for that purpose - while Hive could be, and has all the features necessary to actually enable Nepal to implement voluntarist government not only during this crisis, but in perpetuity. Instead, I wonder if any Nepali has even heard of Hive.
We could be taking over the world and preventing the developing global technocratic totalitarian tyranny from turning the West into Gaza, and polities into something like sportsball teams, but instead stakeholders cling to their relatively worthless ROI, control of the rewards pool, and DHF take.
If anyone can get their heads to wrap around two alternative futures for Hive, one grinding to penury and a collapsing userbase without you (like Nepal's government), and one soaring to the Genius Act potential Hive has with your perspicacity, vision, and skillset managing that evolution, you can. No pressure though. Just because you're the only person that can enable Hive to save the West, democracy, and freedom from Palantyranny, censorship, and WEF smart prisons with bugpods and goyslop for all - including them, who'll trade their stake for UBI and like it, or else - by representing Hive to devs, investors, and the web3 community, doesn't mean you have to feel any urgency.
I'm glad it's you, because I believe in you.
Thanks!
