You think you're well prepared for the move to the next country and then this.
You have an EU bank account, an EU company with a tax number and even a German phone number, the customers are happy with it, it runs smoothly.
What I forgot when I moved is the sheer size of the world.
The Philippines is much further away from Germany than any country I've ever lived and worked in, so the latencies are also bigger, much bigger, too big for some jobs.
Although I am connected to the best provider here via fiber optics, whose servers are only a few kilometers away from the nearest undersea cable, I have a ping of over 240ms, plus the processing time in the servers.
That's too much for any job that relies on telephone contacts. Nobody makes their customers wait half a second on the phone.
And so I finally have time for new projects.
Let's see what I can come up with. Do you have any ideas for me?

Man hat ein EU-Bankkonto, eine EU-Firma mit Steuernummer und sogar eine deutsche Telefonnummer, die Kunden sind zufrieden damit, es läuft reibungslos.
Was ich bei meinem Umzug vergessen habe, ist die schiere Größe der Welt.
Die Philippinen sind viel weiter entfernt von Deutschland als alle Länder, in denen ich bisher gelebt und gearbeitet habe und die Latenzen sind somit auch größer, viel größer, zu groß für manche Jobs.
Obwohl ich hier beim besten Anbieter per Glasfaser verbunden bin, dessen Server nur ein paar Kilometer vom nächsten Unterseekabel entfernt sind, habe ich einen Ping über 240ms, dazu kommt noch die Verarbeitungszeit in den Servern.
Das ist zu viel für jeden Job, der auf Telefonkontakte basiert. Niemand lässt seine Kunden eine halbe Sekunde warten im Gespräch.
Und so habe ich endlich Zeit für neue Projekte.
Mal sehen, was mir dazu einfällt. Habt ihr eine Idee für mich?
