Debbie is a very talented singer. She's had many successful albums and several songs that have reached number one for months. She also has a huge following of fans who eagerly await each new song she releases. But Debbie faces a major problem: all her achievements are limited to her home country. All those albums sold, all those number one hits, and all those fans are confined to her own country. Despite years of dedicated effort, she hasn't been able to achieve international recognition.

It's as if she's been invisible to the world. She's changed her technique and the themes of her songs, but neither has helped her move forward and gain wider international recognition. She's often said that people don't like her singing style or perhaps her cultural background, which is what inspires her music. For a while, she simply stopped striving for international success and focused on the markets where she was already being heard. And if she was successful as she almost always was, the fact that she couldn't be better known outside her country was like a thorn in her side.

Y si tenia éxito como casi siempre pero el hecho de no poder ser más conocida fuera de su país era como una espina en la carne.

It felt like a thorn in her side because she saw her career as incomplete. So, a moment came when she could no longer bear this unfulfilled desire and began to take action. She hired a new manager to help her understand what was happening. This manager was Rafael, someone experienced in international music and someone who knew exactly what he was doing. When they first spoke to analyze the situation, he immediately noticed what was affecting her.

But even before he could explain what it was about, she told him that if the problem was abandoning her culture in her songs, then she didn't want to be an international artist, because she was proud of her culture and leaving it behind would be abandoning her values. But he told her not to worry, that she could continue sharing her culture in her songs; that wasn't the problem. The real problem was the language. Her language wasn't widely spoken in the world, so it was a major barrier to people understanding her. In fact, her language prevented her from sharing more of her own culture, so she was doing the opposite of what she wanted to convey.

Debbie was very surprised because she never imagined that this detail would be the biggest obstacle in her career. Rafael had hit the nail on the head. This was the very thing that had limited her global reach over the years. Rafael strongly recommended that she start learning a more widely spoken language so she could expand her reach. And once she was more well-known, she could release songs in both languages ​​since people would already know her. She took his advice and admitted he was right. She was glad she had hired him as her manager; she never would have imagined it.

After that important conversation, she identified the language she wanted to learn. But wanting to learn is one thing, and actually doing it is another. It was very difficult for her to start because it was all new to her. She had to take several courses and even repeat them more than once. It was a huge challenge, but if she managed to overcome it, it would be well worth it. First, she learned to read and write in that language, then to speak it. But in that time, she spent two consecutive years learning.

Debbie se quedó muy sorprendida porque nunca imaginó que ese detalle fuera el gran problema de su trayectoria. Rafael había dado en el clavo. Tuvo que ir a varios cursos y hasta repetirlos más de una vez. Fue un gran desafío pero si lograba superarlo valdría mucho la pena. Primero prendió a leer y escribir en ese idioma, luego a hablarlo. Pero en ese lapso pasó 2 años consecutivos para aprender.

The day she finally learned enough, she felt overjoyed because she had almost overcome the first major hurdle. But she soon discovered another challenge. Speaking or reading in a different language was not the same as singing in a new language. This came as a shock after so much effort. But luckily, Rafael was always there to help her throughout the process, encouraging her to stay motivated and constantly reminding her of everything she would gain.

After months of rehearsals, she was finally ready to create her first song in a new language. It had been a tough journey to get to this point, but she had already achieved the most difficult part. She worked hard to create the song, having to start over again and again due to pronunciation problems, but perseverance pays off, and in the end, she succeeded. She finished the song in a new language. When she released it, she immediately began to see new people and international media outlets interested in her. It was the first time she had ever done this. The song was a decent success, although not as massive as in her home country; it was the beginning of something much bigger. And she was ready to break down barriers.

El día en que logró aprender lo suficiente se sintió muy alegre porque casi había vencido el primer gran paso. Pero pronto descubrió que había otro desafío más. Luego de meses de ensayos por fin estaba lo suficientemente lista para crear su primera canción en un nuevo idioma. Fue un duro recorrido hasta este punto pero ya había logrado lo más complicado. Creo la canción con mucho trabajo, ya que tenia que empezar una y otra vez por problemas de pronunciación, pero el que persevera consigue y al final lo logró. Terminó la canción en un nuevo idioma. Cuando la lanzó de inmediato comenzó a ver a nuevas personas y medios internacionales interesarse en ella. Era la primera vez que lo hacía. La canción fue un éxito aceptable, aunque no fue tan masivo como en su país era el comienzo de algo mucho más grande. Y ella estaba lista para romper fronteras.
