Como verán ella prepara una presentación importante para cantar en vivo para algunas personas. Pero antes de poder hacer la presentación las cosas no salen como esperaba. Tiene que hacer algo para poder estar presente sino quiere perder las oportunidades. La cuestión amigos es si podrá lograrlo de alguna forma. It was May 27th, just three days until the 30th. That day would be special for Leigh, as she was going to release one of her newest songs, never before heard. She would present it at an exclusive concert for select fans, invited only; the general public was not allowed. But among the invited guests were some very special figures: heavyweights of the Buskeria music industry. She had invited them because many were managers or record label executives. Her intention was to surprise them with this new, unreleased song.

If she managed to surprise them and they saw her great talent, perhaps some would offer her opportunities for contracts or collaborations. This was very important to Leigh because it would allow her to focus on creating music without worrying too much about production costs. With only three days left, the pressure to make sure everything went smoothly was immense. She made sure to secure a good venue for the private concert. It was an air-conditioned and closed-door venue, so no one from outside could record the song and leak it ahead of time.

Era mayo 27, faltaban solo 3 día para el 30 del mes. Ese día sería especial para Leigh pues iba a lanzar una de sus canciones más recientes nunca antes escuchada. La presentaría en un concierto exclusivo solo para ciertos fans escogidos por invitación, no podía el publico en general. Pero entre ello había unos invitados muy especiales, eran algunos pesos pesados de la industria musical de Buskeria. Ella los había invitado para que fueran pues muchos eran managers, o directores de discográficas. Su intensión era sorprenderlos a ellos con esta canción nueva que aún no había sido lanzada.

Si los lograba sorprender y veían el gran talento que tenia quizás algunos le ofrecerían oportunidades de contratos juntos o colaboraciones. Esto era muy importante para Leigh porque así podría enfocarse en crear música sin preocupare demasiado por los costos de las producciones. Faltaban ya solo 3 días, por tanto la presión para que todo saliera bien era muy alta. Se encargó de conseguir un buen lugar para el concierto privado. Era un local climatizado y a puerta cerrada, así nadie de afuera grabaría la canción y la filtraría antes de tiempo.

She emailed invitations to her chosen fans, and selecting them was a difficult task because they all loved her dearly. To simplify the process, she chose those she had met at autograph sessions, her most loyal fans. The others would have to wait until the song was released. With only a day left and the final preparations underway, she decided to take a walk around the city. This way, she could connect with people, see what they were saying about her, take photos, and go for a run. The walk began at 10:00 a.m. with an autograph session, and some people from that session were even invited to the event the following day.

Afterward, she took some photos with a few fans and then went for her daily run to get some exercise and feel more energized for the next day. But after running for a while, she got tired and very hungry. She had left her food at the hotel and didn't want to go back to get it right then. The only thing she could do was satisfy her hunger at that precise moment with a street food cart. She was so hungry she didn't even notice the cups weren't exactly clean. She ordered a milkshake and ate some pizza from the place. Bad idea.

Para simplificar el proceso escogió a los que había conocido en las sesiones de autógrafos, a los más leales. Los demás tendrían que esperar a que saliera la canción a la venta. Faltando un día ya con las últimas cosas siendo ultimadas ella quiso dar un paseo por la ciudad. Así podía estar en contacto con la gente y ver que decían sobre ella, tomarse fotos y correr un poco por la ciudad. El recorrido empezó a las 10 de la mañana con una sesión de autógrafos, de esa sesión incluso algunas personas más fueron invitadas para el evento del habría al otro día.

Tras eso se tomó unas fotos con algunos y luego se fue para su carrera de diaria y así hacer un poco de ejercicio para estar más animada para el otro día. Pero tras correr un rato se cansó y le dio mucha hambre. Las cosas de comer se le habían quedado en el hotel y no quería en ese momento irse para atrás a buscarla. Lo único que podía hacer era matar las ganas en ese preciso momento con un carrito de comida callejera. Tenía tanta hambre que ni se fijo que los vasos no estaban muy limpios que digamos. Se tomó un batido y comió pizza del lugar. Mala idea.

That same evening, she felt very ill, with a fever and other flu-like symptoms. Apparently, since the glasses weren't clean, she caught the flu from someone who had been drinking there earlier. She was very annoyed with herself about the situation. The big concert was scheduled for the following morning. Her voice was very hoarse because the flu had caused her throat to become inflamed. It was a disaster; no matter how much she wanted it to be, and no matter how many pills she took that night, her voice wasn't going to be fine overnight. The only option was to postpone the concert until she felt better.

That decision was very risky because many of the record company executives would be there and had already made plans and adjusted their schedules to ensure they wouldn't miss it, so a change of date wouldn't guarantee they would attend the new one. The concert had to happen no matter what; she couldn't miss this great opportunity. She wouldn't postpone it or cancel it. She would use playback.

Ese mismo día por la noche se sintió muy enferma, con fiebre y otros síntomas de gripe. Al parecer como los vasos no estaban limpio pues contrajo alguna gripe de alguien que había tomado previamente ahí. Estaba muy molesta consigo misma por esa situación. Pues al amanecer del otro día era el gran concierto. La voz la tenia muy ronca porque la gripe hizo que se le inflamara la garganta. Era un desastre por mucho que quisiera y por las miles de pastillas que pudiera tomar esa noche no se le iba a arreglar la voz esa misma noche para amanecer bien. Lo único sobre la mesa era aplazar el concierto hasta que se mejorara.

Esa decisión era muy arriesgada porque muchos de los directivos de las discográficas estarían ahí y ya habían hecho planes y ajustado su agenda para no faltar, por lo que un cambio de fecha no aseguraría que fueran en la nueva. El concierto debía celebrarse fuera como fuera, no podía perder esta gran oportunidad. No lo aplazaría ni cancelaria. Usaría playback.

Using playback was really risky because if it was discovered, the audience would think they'd been scammed. But Leigh didn't see any other viable option and decided to take the chance. She was confident that since the song had never been sung before, they wouldn't notice. Well, the day arrived, and it was time to begin. She could barely speak because her throat was in terrible shape. She spoke softly and told those who asked that she was doing it that way so as not to damage her voice for the song.

The time came to sing, and the playback worked perfectly. The night before, she hadn't slept at all, practicing the mouth movements and the coordination with the music. It seemed that luck was on her side that day because everything went well and without any major problems. To the people who heard her, it was her singing. Parece que la suerte estaba con ella ese día porque todo le salió bien y sin problemas mayores. Para la gente que la escuchó ella fue quien cantó. La canción en si fue tan buena que consiguió los contratos que quería. Un gran riesgo pero valió la pena.
