I'm packing up my coin collection as i'm packing up my office. I keep some of my favorites near by, but now they're going to a cool dark place until it's time for them to see the light of day again.
I came across this 2023 Silver Eagle and had to remark it's brilliance in the sunlight. In near-perfect condition, it's value has increased about 41% since 2023.
It wasn't that long ago that silver under $25.00 was typical, now we're looking at about $33.00. The majority of my silver investment was back when silver was around $13 - 16. I was DREAMING of $20 silver!
It's amazing to think that this physical investment as more than doubled in value, just in silver melt alone, let alone numismatic value increases due to demand and inflation.
Turns out I was right back in 2007, when I started investing heavily into silver. The sell value is now 136% higher than it once was.
Truth be told, I was convinced it would be 1000X by 2025, but who knows what the future will be. It would be bitter-sweet. On one hand, I would be happy that my investment was doing well, on the other hand, I would be sad that it will be more difficult (expensive) to acquire new assets.
FOMO guys. You'll be telling your grandchildren about how we used to purchase a 99.9% pure silver coin for less than $500. They won't believe you!
Just like how I used to go to coin shops with a $20 bill and walk out with a nice collection of new silver coins.
Going in today, better bring a stack of cash if you want to leave with anything interesting.
