I'll be watching.

I think the space race is back again, and that's one reason we're going. We had a race with the Russians in the 60s which we won. Then the race was over for a while so we stopped going to the moon. Now we want a colony on the moon's south pole where water may be, and so do the Chinese. So another race provides the drive to get us back there again.

Yes, it's competition between leading countries. Back then, the USSR launched the first satellite and the first man into space, sent the first space stations to Mars, and was close to sending astronauts to the Moon.

China now has the economic capacity to build a lunar base. Therefore, the US must hurry.
