Today I want to talk about a topic that, at the beginning of my blockchain journey, seemed a bit complex but that I now consider fundamental for growth in this ecosystem: Hive Engine.
We all love our HIVE and HBD, but the "second layer" (Layer 2) of our blockchain offers us a world of opportunities. However, upon entering it, we see hundreds of tokens, and the big question arises: Which ones are truly reliable?
Based on my experience, my research, and the time they've spent building, here's my personal list of the tokens I consider the "Blue Chips" (the most solid) of Hive Engine.
- The "Pegged Tokens" (SWAP.HIVE, SWAP.BTC, SWAP.USDT)
Before talking about projects, we need to talk about the foundation.
SWAP.HIVE: It's the king of Hive Engine. Basically, it's wrapped HIVE. Its reliability is 1:1 with HIVE liquid. Without it, we're stuck.
SWAP.BTC / SWAP.ETH / SWAP.USDT: These tokens represent external cryptocurrencies within our network. We consider them reliable because the team behind the bridge (the Hive-Engine/KeyChain team) has demonstrated security for years. They're ideal if you want exposure to Bitcoin or Dollars without leaving the ecosystem and without paying exorbitant fees.
- LEO (InLeo) 🦁 If we're talking about communities that are constantly building, we have to talk about LEO. It's the token of the InLeo financial community and interface. Why do I trust it?
They have years of continuous development.
They've created a very strong circular economy (advertising that buys and burns tokens).
Their team is public and very active. For me, holding LEO is betting on one of the most promising dApps in Web3.
- SPS (Splinterlands) ⚔️
Although the price can be volatile (like everything in crypto), Splinterlands is Hive's flagship game.
SPS is the governance token.
It has real utility within the game.
It's backed by an established company that has brought thousands of users to Hive. Despite market ups and downs, it's a project with a real, functional product, which lends it significant legitimacy.
- BEE (Worker Bee) 🐝
This is the native token of the Hive-Engine platform.
It's used to create new tokens, oracles, and pay advanced transaction fees.
If you believe Hive-Engine will continue to exist and grow as Hive's smart contract layer, then BEE has fundamental intrinsic value. It's the "fuel" of the machine.
Honorable Mentions
There are other community tokens that have proven to be very serious and consistent, adding value through curation and tools:
PIZZA: An incredible team that has created tools for gamers and payments.
ALIVE: Focused on community and lifestyle content.
