Anime Festival Asia is a big anime event in Asia that is held in some countries. After the last AFA in 2018, AFA Indonesia is back again in 2024 starting from today to Sunday, May 5, 2024. It's located in the Jakarta Convention Center (Gmaps).

I'm going here with my friend who is taking a day off today. Participating in the biggest anime event in Indonesia on a weekday feels different. I arrived at 07:12 AM there and the gate opened at 10:00 AM 🤣. Need to wait around less than 3 hours. The time goes by, It's still so quiet with some around my age and older who are waiting in a queue at 08:24 AM.
Being a weekday is the main reason for this state but there are more in stories after some strangers suddenly join my conversation with my friends about my underclassmen and her mentee knows about a small event but asks, "What is AFA?" The stranger also backed up the statement that his student at school (He's a teacher, I think?) also doesn't know about AFA. Tbh... The first thing on my mind is I don't know if a teacher can take a day off to participate in this event or not 🤣. I want to ask because of the curiosity but I hold it as I don't know who's he.
As the time went around 09:00 AM, the queue was divided more for the fast lane ticket and the regular ticket. I bought the regular ticket, that's why I'm going here earlier. I don't know why Fast Lane ticket users even came here earlier too. That's a ticket for the queue breaker 🤣. There's a little bit of delay but at 10:28 AM the gate is finally open!

Not like other events that focus on stage and booths. There's an art exhibition here by LAM Art.
Stamp Rally Card
AFA also prepares activities for all participants with a bingo Stamp Rally card. Participants can collect 7 stamps on 7 Official partner booths to get into a prize drawing at the end of today's event.

Walking around and doing many activities. We also get freebies when we participate in activities in their booth. I also get other freebies from other booths and collect plenty of freebies 😋.
Garagarakuji.tokyo booth
Not to forget to gacha in this event. I chose Garagarakuji.tokyo booth a booth that comes from Japan. I choose to gacha a Figure kuji with a price of 300k IDR ~ US$18.78 for each try. The reward is gold (3 chosen figures), silver (2 chosen figures), and red (1 chosen figure). My luck is bad here 🤣. I just got 1 figure. Btw, I can't post the picture of the figure here because I don't know how NSFW in HIVE works. It's safe in some countries but it's not safe in others like my country. To be safe, I don't post it but I share what I chose. It's "Taito Rem Figure - Pretty Devil". Without the box, it should be around that kuji price too. So, the bad gacha in here will give you to buy a figure at a normal price. It's not bad.
There are also booths from creators too like this one above. In English, Karamomo Kitchen is a group of Live2D creators with a restaurant theme. It's already common to see many streamers debut with Live2D nowadays and rigger + creator like this is in demand. The exciting one about AFA is the creators' booth isn't local only. I found a Malaysian booth, a Thailand booth, and others that I don't know where their country is from.
After doing everything and finishing the Rally Stamp card, we're taking a break and waiting for the latest event. The PRIZE DRAWING! The host brings a lot of prizes and the drawing continues until all prizes that day are finished.
It's even more enthusiastic for the event participants when a good prize like the Kizuna Ai Original Figure also becomes a drawing prize. Today's winner is around 30+ people if I didn't wrong 🤔. Sadly, I don't get any 🤣. Well, it's still a fun day to participate in AFA again after 6 years of absence in Indonesia.
It's a lot of fun day from the dawn till night. I'm exiting the venue at 08:30 PM when the host is closing the event for today. It's a lot of fun and well... I think I won't need to go to an event within a few months because I'll compare them a lot with AFA 🤣. OTSUKARE!
