Six bundles of joy! : My Actifit Report Card: May 11 2026

in Actifit13 days ago

The resident swans at the Ifield Mill Pond have produced and hatched six beautiful cygnets. We had a great view of them from the suspended walkway.

They were a joy to stand there and watch for a while amongst the other birds. You can see a coot sitting on her nest in the next photo. This is very close to this public walkway and a great way to see wildlife.

This park is a lovely way to spend a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The canada geese continue to produce more offspring. This spring is looking like a bumper season for wild birds. But there are dangers lurking 🤔. We spotted a fox in the undergrowth near the lake looking to pick off a quick meal! 😲

Such sweet little ones! So glad they hatched and are enjoying the lake!

I hope the fox gets run off by something; not fair for the babies to just be hatched and then become someone's dinner!

We have owls here that will pick off baby birds out of the nests in the trees while mom desperately tries to protect them. It drives me nuts; I can't stand to listen to the desperation in the moms chirps as she tries but fails to save her babies!

Thank you for sharing the babies! Excellent job with your 11756 @actifit steps for the day. Take care!

Thank you so much!

Yes, unfortunately this is how nature works. We have dratted magpies doing the same thing.

Ugh! Makes me want to help them alll, although I'm helpless to do anything really. Sometimes, nature can be cruel. Take care and enjoy the day!

Awesome to see all the new babies my friend!!🤗
Hopefully the mother will be able to protect all of her babies....... it's a dangerous start to their new life!🙄😍

I love the variety of our wild birds in the UK and it is always great to see the babies at this time @davidthompson57 have the best day
