I thought we were the only country with that problem, electricity's so important that I assumed the rest of the countries have done what's necessary to prioritize it.

Well, I recently read about blackouts in Cuba, Argentina, Ecuador and Venezuela. At least here it's because we only depend on hydroelectric plants, it has not rained for many months and the dams are drying up. As a result, not enough electricity is being produced.
Well, here we depend on petroleum and also Electric Plants are way too old. So there's no way to supply the high electric demand with those dinosaurs and without petroleum.
I hope someday soon you'll change the government there and you can have a good quality of life.
Government here won't change easily, I prefer getting out of here to improve my life quality.
