Wavering. My Actifit Diary: June 10 2026

Today was a beautiful day. In weather. It was a little exhausting to me. I woke up early and decided to take advantage of the time and go to the gym – although it was market day. I usually don’t go to the gym on market days, but then again, that’s usually Thursdays, not Wednesday. Today was different.

The city is cleaning cables out the streets all week. Old cables, out of use, unmarked ones. The city is full of them, so it’s a good move. Unfortunately, they chose Thursday to clean the street that the market is on. Probably coincidence. They make their decisions by quadrants, not by strategic decisions regarding the economic impact.

Since they close the street for that, the whole day, we can’t get to set up nor leave. So we spontaneously moved the market to Wednesday. Which is the only compromise available, and not a good one. We don’t sell as much, plus, it’s a double workload as we also go to Ibarra on Wednesdays.

But it is what it is. I didn’t complete my whole routine at the gym, only half, and then went back to get ready for the market. I didn’t sell much. I was tired. So I left a little earlier than usual. Went back home, and played a little on the computer, just to turn my brain off.

Then I realized that it doesn’t work, so I ripped myself away from the screen, meditated and took a power nap. When I woke up, I thought about that, and turned it into a post.

And then went into productive mode. Work work work, getting a lot of stuff done. I almost forgot that I had training today, and was quite tired again when that started. But we did the forms first, and that is a great wake-up opportunity.

Sounds like a real hassle with the market day changing. But seems like you adapted well to it. With regards to forms. That reminds me that I need to pick back up my Tai Chi again soon.

There's an interesting form in Tang Soo Do that combines Tai Chi with Shudokan Karate. It still feels a little "pieced together", not like a naturally fluid form, but I just started it so I can't really judge it. It's quite enjoyable to combine the Tai Chi, internal energy focused, with the highly externally focused Karate movements.

I was just beginning in Tai Chi, but felt it wsa helping me. Stopped, should have stuck with it.

Never too late to get back at it!
