At least the weather was fine... (Last week's favorite pictures)

in Photography Loverslast month

I asked the week to reconsider it's hostility towards me, but the week was just "You chose this, pal, ain't no lessons coming for free." That's what it felt like. I'm kind of happy it's over. From time to time it's necessary to hit a wall, to have body, mind and heart all being beaten up and that way beating some sense into me. Made some resolutions, we'll see how that goes.

Now, pictures.

The first one is not a good picture in and off itself. It's me being defiant. Getting up anyway, starting and finishing a project, and feeling good about that for a little more than a day. Why this one is the first? Because I used the best one already in a different post.

I really like this one. The vibrant, fresh colors after the rain that is still sitting on the edge of the petals. But right below it, the perished one, a flower who's time had come and it went away. I did a few more pictures of this constellation, but this one came out best. It was Saturday, when it finally rained (and boy, did it rain!). Okay, this isn't a great picture, but it proves the point:

I love the little electric bike with the umbrella in the right corner. There was no way he wasn't getting absolutely soaked. The water hit the ground so hard that water came at you from all sides and from below. But back to the good ones.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to really get this cloud formation from the right angle. Too many cars and other obstacles. And when I was back at my place, on the roof terrace, it had already dissolved. I still like it a lot, the clouds eating up the bigger part of Mama Cotacachi.

Kami made me aware of this one when I was walking her back after Tang Soo Do classes. Usually, her mom comes and picks her up, but she had to attend a business meeting at 7pm. Happens a lot. But one of the people that is basically volunteering to get the clothing factory back into shape has very restricted hours do do meetings. 8am to 9am, and 7pm to 9pm. Not fun, but hopefully just temporary.

There was some confusion about the amount of Olive Bread that was to be made, and instead of having one extra for me to take pictures, they were all spoken for. Which lead to me taking the picture very early in the morning - which was kind of perfect, as the morning sun gifted a great light to the picture. And the bread was incredibly delicious.

A dove made my new and expensive ladder her nest. You can see some egg shell in the middle of the picture, right above the ladder step. So she already has some kids being out. I tried not to disturb her, neither that day nor during the compost construction, but at one point she got scared and took off for 20min. I was scared that she wouldn't come back, but after leaving the space in peace, she did. Cute little thing.

The view from the platform overseeing the Rio Ambi valley was spectacular on Tuesday. The person who attended me at the courthouse wasn't, angry from the beginning, without any interest. Unfortunately, the guy who usually attends me started his lunch break right before it was my turn. I'll go back there tomorrow and see what's up then. We already filed a new document, and hopefully will be granted the means to search for my daughter. Bureaucracy is hell here. "As long as she's with the mom, everything is fine." Period. No exceptions. But the view was spectacular, and I practiced my Tang Soo Do forms up there.

For the end, a double picture:

This little beauty was up on the roof terrace enjoying the arugula flowers. It was really hard to get a picture of them, as there was wind and the branches swung in the wind, blurring the pictures. Plus, they didn't like hanging out on one flower too long, and took off rather quickly when I came close. But after 5min of trying (feels longer than it reads), they finally took a break. So did the wind. And I got it from both sides! I'm a happy Beel.

That's it for this week! Hope you enjoyed some. Or all? As always, any feedback and especially tips and tricks are very welcome! As long as it's not AI generated content or comment spamming... 😅

The beauty of flowers and nature. In a week, I'll be in my garden; it's the best place to relax, better than the most expensive hotels in the world :)

It always is! The one at my house, at least the real one downstairs, already is like that. Now I want the bakery to have the same - hence the compost.
