Been having some issues with linking HuaweiHealthApp with Strava, data wasn't being shared, so for now I'll just use the HuaweiHealthApp to create these posts.

Today's ride nearly didn't happen, from downpours between sunny moments wasn't sure whether it was worth it. So, geared up for wet riding, pumped the tyres, checked the lighting system, tyre repair system, spare brake pads, time to hit the road. Did I forget something ? of course I did. Was planning to stop at the supermarket for some fruit and didn't bring my combo chain. Route determined, 2 loops around suburb, after 1st loop pick up chain.

Te Puna Wai Rock: don't really know what it means but this area used to be Wainuiomata College. Our small suburb couldn't support 2 colleges due to small population so they closed this school and put in this residential area. It's a shame as this school held good (or bad) memories for my daughters.

My Gear

  • Huawei Band 10 Watch (heart rate monitor).
  • Samsung Galaxy A33 5G (HuaweiHealthApp for Android).

Wow I thought I carried much gear and repair tools with me but you even carry spare brake pads 😀

Yeah the Wainui Summit is brutal on brake pads for cycles, even worse for tyres on cars.

The opposite happens to me. The Mi Fitness app on my Redmi Active 5 smartwatch closes when I tap on the workout.
I didn't have it linked to Strava directly before because it didn't work well, but now it does. It's a mystery to me, or it could simply be an issue with my phone, which needs to be replaced. Or perhaps it hasn't been updated as it should have been due to the lack of connectivity I have here.
