An early taste of summer as the temperature rose to 94 degrees with a bright sunny sky and no breeze. It made for a tiring volunteer shift at the hatchery.
I got out early for my run but it was already uncomfortably warm as I headed into the town along the creekside path.
Plenty of company along the way as everyone was trying to be outdoors before the oppressive heat rolled in.
My pace wasn't great but my legs felt a bit stronger today after some better nights sleep. The path was flat and the 5 km went by quickly enough.
Another 3 miles plus walking around the hatchery grounds during my 5 hours. Plenty to work tomorrow do to keep the fish raceway and pond grates cleared of the leaves and cottonwood fuzz.
