My garden in June 2026

in #alive20 days ago

It was very hot this afternoon 33 degrees - so we harvested the crops in the morning. In the morning, it was 23 degrees Celsius. The whole of June was cool, but the heat has arrived over the last couple of days.

Cherries

Fresh vegetables. Did you know that new potatoes are low in starch and rich in vitamins? These vegetables were grown without any chemical treatment.

There were also a few small cucumbers. My wife made me lunch today: she dressed the cucumbers, onion, dill, and other herbs with sour cream - it was delicious.

We have many flowers in our garden; right now, these are the most beautiful ones.

Tomorrow, we will make soup from young beet leaves.

Some more healthy, tasty greens.

I also planted potatoes right on the lawn. Tomorrow, I’ll take a photo of my potatoes and the ones my wife planted. I don’t tend to my potatoes at all; I spent just five minutes putting them in the holes, and I’ll spend another five minutes harvesting them. I hope they won’t be too small :)

That is a great harvest, everything looks really well grown.

Everything is going very well this year.

33 degrees ,that's real heat. Harvesting in the morning is the only way to survive it.

I didn't know new potatoes are low in starch and rich in vitamins. Growing without chemicals makes it even better, real food, real care.

There's something peaceful about growing your own food. Hard work, but rewarding.

Do you garden every year, or is this a new thing?

Every year.

I think that in the near future, your own garden and a supply of environmentally friendly products from it may become especially relevant. I wish you a good harvest. !ALIVE

Thank you!

Wow that looks like a flourishing garden! I wish mine was that productive. Then again, I don't invest enough time into it. And resources - have to work on the soil before I can get some good harvests. Some plants already grow nicely, though. I'm getting there.

Yes, we have good loamy soil, and we often plant green manure crops to let the land rest. My wife mostly takes care of the garden; I go there to relax and lie in a deck chair :)

What a wonderful harvest! Your wife certainly has golden hands. Take care of her!
