RE: It's Time for Absolutely Nothing!

in Silver Bloggers3 days ago

I read an interesting article a few months back, relating to how many choices we have to make in the course of an average day.

These days the number of choices we make in a given day is at an all-time high. The article also examined the fact that the neurochemistry that goes with making choices does not "clear" out of the brain until we go to sleep... it just keeps building with every new choice we face. Consequently we feel exhausted because we just keep being forced into situations where we have to make choices.

The point of doing nothing — simply as an exercise in personal wellness — is that even 15 minutes of doing absolutely nothing (more than maybe looking at grass grow) enables our brain to release some of that neurochemistry that has been backing up, and so we are able to tackle the rest of our day with a little bit more energy.

Anyway, I hope you're quitting what you're doing leads to you finding something that is far more suitable and purposeful.
