Power to me is having the ability to control a someone's actions, behaviors or thoughts. It might be thru authority like the King of a particular community. It can also be thru knowledge or having access to resources(money)
Although it might not be only for domination rather it can be a drive for change when its been used in the area of empowering people.
We should also look into the believe system if there is something that can give a person power?
Yes, there are many factors that can contribute to someone's power like having right knowledge and being expert in your field.
Someone's Social/Personal networks might provide power for him or her. Another things that can give someone power for better communication with others are charisma or emotional intelligence.
Do you believe that everyone can have some power or is it meant for some persons?
Power is never limited to some individuals or groups but it all depend on the strength or resources one has. Everyone has the ability to have some power but it may varies for example one may have political influence and another may have personal power and the capacity to bring a positive change to the community.
Do we actually have different types of Power?
We have informational power: This is where one have access to some valuable information, having the capacity to control and distribute will bring influence to him or her.
We also have Social Power: This one depend on someone's status or their social networks which can be very effective in reshaping decisions.
We have Legitimate Power:This is based on recognized authority like having a position of a Boss, governmental official or teacher.
We have Intelligence Power:This comes by having knowledge or becoming an expert that others value or depend on.
Conclusion: Power is good but it can as well be used negatively or positively.....touching the lives of people around you by impacting their lives positively or using it to bully people also. The individual or the carrier of those powers differs.
