RE: Chaos will come.

in Reflections8 days ago

I believe that from the perspective of the Universe's evolution, there is no chaos whatsoever. Moreover, a hypothetical supercomputer at the moment of the Big Bang could have calculated the evolution of matter on all planets billions of years into the future—for matter evolves according to strict laws of physics, and we humans are a part of that matter.

Sort:

That's an interesting view that I don't hear too often as it means that we don't have free will or choices. When everything is under the law of physics and predictable, than our will and soul are material that are under those laws, too.

Or, the other possibility - human impact doesn't matter. We're too small to do any changes to the future, no matter what we do in our confined space. The calculation is not for every human being, but for the development of the broader picture (a lot broader in this case).

I believe that the laws of the material world are immutable for the elements—for the flow of river water and the rain falling from the clouds—and for animals foraging for food. But the moment a being on this planet acquires reason, an analytical mind, and a sense of self within the world, the capacity for choice emerges. A monkey never has the option to become a vegetarian out of principle, whereas a human does.

At a certain stage in the development of matter, the predictability of development becomes more complex—due to the higher degree of freedom possessed by intelligent beings.
