Dear Splinterlands Community,
I'd like to present to you the newest feature on my site, called Card Sale Activities.
Is there any demand for black and arcane foil cards? Is Chaos Legion Edition already dead? What are the most wanted modern archons (summoners) since the good old CL ones were wiped out from the Modern League?
From today, you can get answers easily for questions similar to these and many more 😉
Overview
The Card Sale Activities feature is a new dashboard in SplinterTrends that shows the card sale market quantity changes for each card in Splinterlands.
With its help, you can examine which cards have the biggest focus nowadays.
In the previous week, I created an article series about the most wanted Conclave Arcana cards after the first two weeks. The source of the data was provided by this feature.
- Most wanted Conclave Arcana common cards after the first 14 days
- Most wanted Conclave Arcana rare cards after the first 14 days
- Most wanted Conclave Arcana epic cards after the first 14 days
- Most wanted Conclave Arcana legendary cards after the first 14 days
Under the hood
This is a little bit technical, but not too complicated 🙂
The main data sources of my site are the Splinterlands Sale and Rental Market data provided by the main site. I'm synchronizing this data for each hour. The wider time window is due to performance reasons. Thousands of new market information are stored after each sync, and I'm doing a huge amount of calculations. I'm planning to restructure my storage to sync more frequently and provide more accurate numbers.
After each successful market sync, I check the quantity change for each card and each level. If the quantity is less than the quantity from the previous sync, I throw the difference to the Sold/delisted bucket. If it's greater, then the difference is landed in the Listed bucket. Within a period, I summarize these values and get the Total sold/delisted and Total listed numbers.
These numbers are the backbone of the feature.
Unfortunately, if there are both sales and listings within an hour, the numbers are neutralizing each other. This can result in a little bit worse accurate in the final numbers, but only for cards with higher activities (e.g., common regular cards). Increasing the frequency of syncs will result in more accurate numbers later.
Let's check out the feature
