First a rant. Sorry. Needed that.
Everything seems to be crumbling right now. Almost all those exclamation points I relied on are turning into question marks. Not on purpose. Not directly. Through squirming and worming to avoid the realization that they don't know themselves yet, at least not enough to be able to stand by their words, but find escapes all around.
Who doesn't?
Plants. Or at least easy plants. They don't promise anything. It's a seed, beautiful, containing everything - or nothing. Depending on factors, passively trying to make it through. Always - consciously or not - seeking the perfect symbiosis, the balance between giving and taking.
You sow me, I give you more seed. You eat half of the seed and sow the other, and you'll have more to eat and more to sow. You care for me, I care for you.
They even tell us when they're not good. Gradually. Very human, actually. No direct "I'm not good!" but starting with small signals, becoming stronger if not treated. The perk? It's all in books. You can read about every single thing.
Psychology!
Yeah, no. Physiology, so much easier to treat than the unfortunate neurons shaped to the disadvantage of a human mind. Even with that, it's still easy to be deceived, or to deceive ourselves. And the worst - humans can't be treated from the outside for their psychological stupidity. They have to want it.
Plants are linear.
So, in the face of all the humanity tumbling down on me, I'll try to ease my mind with hope in form of seeds. I went to the market on Sunday as always, and got a beautiful bag full of colorful bean seeds. "I got them at the seed exchange, and I sowed them as they came, and they came out so colorful, and I will sell them as such!" said the Kichwa lady, visibly enjoying her harvest. "And I shall eat as colorful!" replied I. Which I will, but I did lie a little. Of course I will put some seeds apart to sow myself, that's what seed fairs are all about.

They will probably go close to where the Peach Tree is. After trimming it down significantly, it sprouted leaves very quickly, and is already in flowers again after not even a month. I'll carve out a bed there, already planted two granadilla and a horse raddish, and will get some black dirt from the mountains (all mountains here are volcanic, so the earth is quite rich up there I was told), and mix it in. The compost is not ready yet, but will be.

Those I selected. All pretty cool. They will hopefully inter-pollinate and become even more spectacular. Or not, who knows, maybe they're racist and hate each other for some reason. Because the purple ones with pink spots are all thieves. And the pink ones with black mustering are even worse, they eat children. And don't ask me about the yellow ones with purple spots! You don't want to know...
Not happening.
They only care about genetics getting stronger through mixing them. Proven concept. All smart beings do that. Even molecules. They perfected to stay as far away from each other as possible within their power, seeking perfect balance. If you ask an O2 about the perfect distance to its kin, it would always be "as far as concentration in space allows."
Go philosophize on that.
I'm rancid today. Sorry. To mitigate that, here's a close up of a peach flower:

Can't do more than that today. But tomorrow, who knows? I'll keep sowing. Both in earth and minds. Maybe something will stick and endure. Maybe I'm not as alone as it feels today. I know I'm not, but it still feels like it. If I was a plant...
