Hi, I am Arveno and i am from Surabaya city Indonesia. I want to make content about one of the famous plant in the world that from Indonesia called Corpse Flower plant that is Rafflesia Arnoldii.
One of unique plant that can only founded on Indonesia. The plant itself is unique. This plant really different when this plant flowering. Not only the form of the flower that very charming and lustful, also this flower having really bad smell from inside of the flower. For your information, i am plant lover especially for aquatic plant and succulent plant. For Aquatic plant the flower is not too smelly, since they are targeting aquatic insect that usually interested with nectar. So usually aquatic plant will bring out some nectar from its flower to inviting water insect. But, that different for Succulent and cactus plant. Some of the species flower will spread the bad smell like this plant. But, yeah not too much, you need to bring your nose close enough to the flower so you can smell it. But, it really different from Rafflesia Arnoldii. The smell can be smelled from a distance. And yeah many people said that the smell is like corpse and can make nausea when inhale the smell.

This plant mostly can be found on Sumatra and Kalimantan island where there is a rainforest. So, this plant basically is parasitic plant that does not have any trunk or root like other plant. And the flower itself is the body of this plant. This plant does not have any leaf that can make this plant photosintesis. This plant using the other plant to photosintesis. And this plant is having bad smell, many people claimed that the smell like a corspe. It will inviting mostly bugs that very love with stinks smell. Usually mosquito,fly,bug,etc that can going inside the flower and will be the food for this plant. This plant can grow up to 70-110 Centimeter Diameter. So, it is so big. And can weight till 50kg. Yeah kinda big. The most big cactus that i ever hold is just 23 kg. Even then, I couldn't lift it alone. Truthfully, i never seen this plant before and never seeing with my own eyes. I only looking lately on my social media. There is one of Rafflesia plant that blooming on Bogor National Park. Yeah many goverment account and KOL shared about Rafflesia Bloom. It been so long after the last blooming i guess. Maybe around 20 years or more if i am not wrong remember it. Yeah the last bloom is when i still teenager and dont like plant at all.
This flower like on the picture above having 5 crown petals. With dot scale and inside the thorns like disk, it fills with stamens and pistil that need to be fertilized by the insects. Thats why this flowers always spread the smell. It will inviting more bugs to going inside and spread the stamens to pistil. And also it will make the bug dead and it will be decomposed inside the flower.
This plant is very rare. Maybe just have around 3 or 4 species only. And hardly to found. And i never found any hobbyist that having this plant. maybe this plant can only transferred between country or goverment since this is critically endangered. And as a plant lover i know with this kind of terms to make this plant grow in wild, i think making the artificial place for this plants is kinda hard. The environment itself can be harmfull especially in damp area like in Rainforest. It can inviting more viruses, bacteria that can make our health affected. Thats why there are so few hobbyist that playing Rainforest Terrarium. Not only hard to maintain, but the other hand many fauna and flora are having need hard terms environment. For example need damp all day without wet. So, it will using misting all day long. And it will broke the mysting tools broke many times. And many more. Especially make the artificial rain water is kinda hard. Low General Hardness with full of oxygen. I believe it need really expensive and modern technology to create the rainforest ecosystem.
