Getting New Shoes After More Than A Year

Hello Asean Hive Community

I have some drafts ready to post about good things recently, however this morning I had a problem. My shoes worn out, and I felt awkward to keep wearing it. So liked it or not, I had to put out my new shoes.

Actually I bought a new shoes last month, but I have never used it. I knew well that I had used my shoes for more than a year. Usually my shoes would worn out within a year, and this one I had tried to maintain it durability by not wearing it everytime I had opportunity to not wearing it.

I always bring sandals, so in my office desk I do not wear shoes, but I wear sandals. I drive my car barefooted.

So here was my new shoes, I bought it from Sport Stations. Their tag line was BEST BRANDS, BEST DEALS lol. They tried to compete with payless and other budget shoes stores by having a section where they dumped cheap shoes there.

So yeah, the shoes I bought was a cheap one. I would not buy expensive or good brand shoes due to monetary issue being stingy

They put 1.695.000 Rupiah as the price tag there, in USD dollar it was around 97-98 USD. The currency rate has been fluctuated badly recently. So did I take this price as cheap?

Well it didn't cost me that much. I bought it for around $24-25 USD. I really do not understand the pricing nowadays, people always put high price then give 50-75% discount without any special event. The store usually give 30-50% discount on all items, and when they want to clear some stock, they would put a 75% discount or some even reach 90% discount rate.

So I believe the actual price should be around half of the written price tag. I do not know if this custom is only in Indonesia, or other countries do the same too... put high price then give big discout out from nothing.

This is the new pair of shoes that I have been talking about. Overall I like the shoes, I like the design and it is surprisingly comfortable to wear it. I do not expect a $24 could be like this.

However there are a couple of things that I feel lacking from this shoes. The first one is the color. I wish it has more darker color, a more brownish one. This one is too tan, too light for me. Even a bit darker one could make this one as an amazing shoes.

The second one is the durability. Honestly I haven't known anything about the bdran, HI-TEC lol. Anyway you can googling to check their official store, which sells their shoes the same as the price tag lol. What worries me is that they cut the price deeply because it is an old model. So it might already pass the first year after the production.

Well still it is a $24 one, what harm could it cost me anyway?. I could just simply sell some $SPS from staking rewards to cover up this shoes cost. I have been playing Splinterlands diligently for years.

But that is not what I want here. I just hope this shoes can last more than a year too. What do you think about my shoes anyways?

Those are some nice looking shoes for a pair of "budget shoes" as you describe them. They look like Timberlands that were fashionable a couple decades ago and also like steel-toe work boots that everyone who works manual labor jobs in western countries are no doubt familiar with.

I still use steel-toe safety boots when I visit certain projects. If I use them in urban area, it gets me into many problem, for example metal detector that people need to get through from building entrances.

I never use Timberlands but I know that shoes. During the hype, the shoes went above $200. Nowadays maybe only around $100-125.

I had a red wing safety shoes before, I gave it to one of my client's staff when he resigned. He wanted to show off in his new office by having that shoes. That time I still worked in oil industry, so I could afford it easily.
