Good heavens! That soup looks incredible! We used to be able to just go down to the beach and grab fresh muscles, periwinkles and snails off the rocks, but Table View has just become so overcrowded and our beaches so polluted, that it's not really possible anymore. You can still get it right if you go further up the coast to more secluded areas. What a freaking amazing soup though! I'd love to give it a try!

We do something called a seafood "potjie." Look, potjies can be made from pretty much anything, like lamb, beef, pork or chicken, but I love the seafood ones. A potjie pot is where all the magic happens. It's a big wrought iron thig - look a bit like a witches pot, that we place over hot cols and let cook for a few hours while we warm up and get a bit "toasted" over good conversation before digging in!
I can picture that and I'll say it's definitely going to be so fun and a delicious moment 🤭
