RE: The Forgotten Friendship Between Man and Book [ENG-URDU]

in Hive Learners3 days ago

I know books connect us to our soul, while screens only distract us. But still I can't manage to move myself from this screen, I guess the addiction got me badly.

Sort:

I don't remember exactly, but there was a time in my life, probably in 3rd or 5th grade. I was at my Khala's place (mom's sister) and got so addicted to GTA that I started to play it in my dreams.

Then I realized the problem and did a detox for the rest of my summer vacations at my Khala's place.

I think it was the same time when I got 100/100 in maths and my sister informed me at the end of summer vacations.

Now, I think we all are addicted to short-form content. To solve this issue, I try to watch videos where people are talking about real life like they are having a conversation with me. No flashing lights or effects, just one guy (talking to me not the other guy in video) on mic telling a real-life story like he is having a conversation with me. I think it improves my attention span and helps me fight short-form brain rot. From a scientific perspective, it's all about not getting dopamine easily. The same principle applies to sex, by the way. The more you think about it while doing it, the lower your timing can get. The point is, it's a mental health topic and there are ways to escape it.

There is another thing called the "boredom state." If you master it, it will be good to boost your critical thinking. Have you ever noticed that those who wash dishes or clean the house have superior creative thinking to us? In countries like Pakistan, women do the house chores and their creative thinking is higher than men's as they have mastered the "boredom state." Some people call it shower thoughts too.

I think I told you some solutions to get attached to books again. My own novel is coming soon and will be available for delivery worldwide, so you better get ready to buy the love romance novel of mine. Of course, non-AI stuff as AI is boring, but I do use it to translate Urdu to English sometimes, where I have to edit many times as it's bad with Urdu idioms.

Ohh, I feel it's really a thoughtful reflection. I truly like the fact that you have connected personal experiences with modern attention issues and even linked it to creative thinking and mindfulness. I can’t wait to check out your novel when it’s out this sounds very exciting! :)
