Do you mean that given a bit of time, farm pigs can behave like wild pigs when put into the forest !INDEED? šŸ·šŸ—šŸ¤ÆšŸ˜…

Sort: Ā

Yes, pigs escape and go feral all the time, and they naturalize very easily. šŸ˜šŸ™šŸ’šāœØšŸ¤™

I don't remember seeing a farm pig escape and then become one of the wild pigs. šŸ·šŸ—šŸ¤Æ I know I could simply search online for videos about it though! šŸ˜…

Regardless of whether or not you've seen it, it is very common. Pigs will usually revert back to having black fur within only a few generations, and they reproduce extremely quickly for being such large mammals, so that happens fast. šŸ˜šŸ™šŸ’šāœØšŸ¤™

That, and I've studied invasion ecology for many years. šŸ˜šŸ™šŸ’šāœØšŸ¤™

I wonder what resources you would recommend for anyone who happens to want to study "invasion ecology" (or ecology in general). šŸ¤“

I would say to avoid anything put out by well-known universities. There are a goodly number of books on the subject for various regions, though my library is gone, so I can't easily recommend specific sources at the moment unless I go hunt them down, which I do not feel like doing now. šŸ˜šŸ™šŸ’šāœØšŸ¤™

Do you mean that your "library" is your digital collection of online books which you love !INDEED? 🤯 I !HOPE that you (soon) find the motivation to "recollect" them! šŸ˜…
