Hello friends and Hivians. I hope all is well. Finally its safe to say winter is gone and Spring is in full swing here. Today I join the #wenesdaywalk hosted by @tattoodjay.
There has been one thing that I have been consistently doing recently and that is going for a walk or run during my lunch hour. I'm happy to say I havent missed a day in nearly eight weeks. Now that I mention that the work devils 😈 will surely foil that, haha.
Not the walk but the location was unexpected though. I headed to the gym where I mostly do a majority of my walking or jogging at. The doors were locked and a sign was up to use 24 hour access entrance. Well I currently don't have my ID registered to gain access to that entrance so I decided to go walking at the Offutt AFB parade field that has a nice walking surface around it.
It was a comfortable temperature out but the wind made it a feel a little chilly. I had planned to run today but I wasn't too disappointed it turned into a walk. It would have been too cold to run in a t-shirt and shorts outside today. So here you see, I walked in my work clothes which included a hooded sweat shirt and jeans.
Plenty of sun today which helped with the chill in the air. It also casted some neat shadows of the greenery scenes and other objects. Plenty of scenery and things to see on this 0.7 mile track. I ended up doing three laps so the total distance I did was a little less than what I usually do. That's due to the time it took to get there and back from my workplace.
Here's a few photos of some things to see at this parade field. A pair of cannons is on display to see weaponary of this places past. This area was used to train troops as far back before the turn of the 20th century when it was known as Fort Crook.
Memorial Day is right around the corner for the U.S.A and the other photo pays tribute to those that have gave the ultimate sacrifice to thier country. A real simple display that has a helmet, boots and a M-16 rifle. The wreath is beautiful decorated with colorful flowers. I find that I have to stop, pause, reflect and admire not only this piece but the bravery of my fellow brothers and sisters who are the reason I'm standing and looking at.
Yes there are other things to see such as old quarters, old buildings and even a nice decorated quezbo. The quarters and buildings are still being utilized today some for the same purposes while others for different. I would have liked to take more pictures but I had to get some steps in today.
Well that's all I have for you today. Take care and be safe. Until next time!
