RE: Grappling With Nature Series No. 5 (Complex Relationship Stemming From Forklore) | Mixed Media Project

in Alien Art Hive2 months ago

Forests have always been the subject of stories and legends, as you mention, most of them negative, I suppose because of the mystery, the darkness and not knowing what is there. They are also often mentioned in connection with witchcraft rituals. And that fear is even reflected in films where the characters are always running away from something or someone, or perhaps a strange creature like the ones you mention.

Your art reflects that fear and mystery in those eyes that cannot see in the darkness, in that wolf that knows the way and can attack, and in those monks performing strange rituals, all enveloped in an atmosphere of mystery, especially at night. I love your representation. Great work! Big hug!

I was hoping to capture strong emotions like fear in my design. My own fears of forests when young made a lasting impression. Fantasy and fiction didn't help. Reading the fairytale books such as Little Red Riding Hood with the wolf laying in disguise was haunting. The lesson not to trust strangers and stay out of the woods affected me. I'm happy to report that I overcame those fears as an adult.

Thanks so much for your visit and insight. I appreciate it and your engagement. Take care.

One of my biggest fears was spiders, but I've overcome that too, although it wasn't easy. We were both taught not to talk to strangers; you have to be cautious. Thank you to you!🤗

Me and spiders aren't BFs either. But I've learned how to at least look at them through art without the creepy crawly feeling.

Exactly, me too!!😃
