I was hoping to capture strong emotions like fear in my design. My own fears of forests when young made a lasting impression. Fantasy and fiction didn't help. Reading the fairytale books such as Little Red Riding Hood with the wolf laying in disguise was haunting. The lesson not to trust strangers and stay out of the woods affected me. I'm happy to report that I overcame those fears as an adult.
