Eric Clapton. Pink Floyd. Beatles. Paul Kalkbrenner. Stoto. Deep Purple. Morning music.
I wake up in a mood. Like everyone else I'd guess. Especially on the weekend. No alarm clock. No rush. No need to get up. Almost every week I wake up and smile while the scent of Ellie lying next to me creeps into my nose, while I feel the warmth irradiating from her body on my skin. I hear the birds, maybe the cat jumping on the roof as elegantly as an elephant, the recording of church bells through the speaker in the church tower.

Today, it was Sixto Rodriguez. I woke up, enjoyed for a little, but then go bored and left the room to let Ellie sleep. Her days are rougher than mine these days, and she needs that sleep. After a while of playing SPL, I got bored and started to make coffee and breakfast - mixed salad, Ellie's favorite. It consists of looking into the fridge and see what I can combine. Today I fried some onions with bell peppers and garlic in coconut oil, extinguished with Acetato Balsamico, and then lemon juice.
While my weekends are kind of the same old thing, my salads are not. Every time a little different. Not so much with music. I like my selection, the one mentioned above. Sixto is high up there. Just the right tunes to keep that smile on my face, and not wake Ellie up. After 2.5 hours, I finally had finished all of it, and woke her up with a cup of coffee. "I'm hungry." was her greeting. "Yes, dear. Breakfast is ready." We're a good team.
It was a typical long morning. Just as we like them. No rush, plenty of time for whatever we're feeling like. Our time. Cold fact and Coming from reality were on endless repeat, and we didn't even notice. Next week, it will be something else. Maybe Wish you were here again. That's another of my favorites.
What's your favorite weekend morning album?
