RE: Feel

in Weekend Experiences26 days ago

First ones is pumpy. And makes the sun come out. Doesn't make me want to drink beer like last week, though I could, but the stable beat with little additions every now and then is more to get work done. Or while running, or biking, or doing any other sport that goes great with monotonous rhythms.

The second one is contrast. Meditative. I'm more in the mood for the first one, so I only skipped through it. It does build, but stays in the same range. Feels like standing on a mountain ridge, with clouds around, looking into the sun going down, which it eventually does.

I'm a sucker for fiddle-music, so the last one got me right away. Especially when they evolve into punky stuff, like Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly. Made me realize that I never watched the movie, only read the book of the last mohican. Maybe that's something to do for this evening. Anyway, it's a great tune that is always just one tune away from becoming epic, one note away from the Hans Zimmer blast-away, but it never comes. I like that. It stays down to earth, solid, no cheap play of emotions. Well, the pictures do that part anyway.

Thanks for the selection!

All three are from movies and with the images from those movies together with the music they're quite powerful. The second is quite meaningful to me as it was played as my father's coffin was lowered into the ground back in 2020. It's also a very moving track and one I like a lot.

As for the Last of the Mohicans, great movie well acted... I especially like the Madeleine Stowe character in it, the way she carries herself, rises to the challenge. Good movie.
